Victorian eHealth Network

Ballarat ICT Cluster presents at Victorian eHealth Network Forum

To gauge interest in the formation of a Victorian eHealth Network, Multimedia Victoria (Victorian Government) in association with the Australian Industry Group held an eHealth forum for a highly targeted and select group of participants from business, university, government and research institutions on 15 May 2008.

This potential Victorian eHealth Network, once established, will have a primary information technology (health applications) focus and will be set up to benefit smaller businesses as well as multinationals and research/post-secondary institutions.

It is expected that such a network would meet regularly and would be a forum that would support information exchange, ideas, peer-to-peer networking, skills/recruitment (MMV envisage there would be some grad/post-grad student members), product/service showcasing, collaborative opportunities, research knowledge exchange, export support, trade fair support and a government information channel on matters related to eHealth.

MMV will also seek expressions of interest from those wanting to participate in the leadership group of the future network at the forum.

The forum will also present an opportunity to network with peers and as well there will be four speakers including:

Kathie Steele, General Manager, Centre for Health Innovation located at the Alfred Hospital, Prahran.
Peter Williams, Director IM & T, Health Department of Human Services
Helen Thompson, Director Centre for eCommerce & Communications (CeCC) University of Ballarat
