ICT 2030
A GENERATIONAL STRATEGY FOR INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY
cBallarat and the University of Ballarat have formed a partnership to produce ICT 2030 the next generation strategy of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for the Ballarat region. The initiative will build on Ballarat’s emerging reputation as the Regional ICT capital of Australia.
ICT 2030 will be a framework from which to develop ICT capacity, investment and employment opportunities critical to Ballarat’s future.
cBallarat, auspiced by the City of Ballarat and chaired by Council’s Chief Executive Officer Richard Hancock, isan independent not-for-profit organisation designed to assist in the promotion and coordinationof Ballarat’s ICT development.
cBallarat conducts innovative and pioneering ICT projects and is responsible for mapping the future direction of ICT in Ballarat.
The University of Ballarat which is researching the project, will produce a draft strategy for consideration by late 2006.
The local community and stakeholders are encouraged to provide input into ICT 2030’s development, via submissions and workshops planned for later this year.
