Cluster members and stakeholders celebrate
On 25 September 2007, Directors of Ballarat ICT Limited and representatives of the University of Ballarat joined with members of the local ICT industry and State and Local Government personnel to celebrate the official launch of Ballarat ICT Ltd and the ICT 2030 Strategy.

Launch activities
Rowena Coutts
Vice President, Corporate Services at the University of Ballarat, welcomed everyone and introduced the Chair of Ballarat ICT Limited, Richard Hancock.
Richard Hancock
After outlining the benefits of relaunching cBallarat as Ballarat ICT Limited, Richard spoke about the importance of innovation, communication and technology to Ballarat’s success. This was then linked into the Ballarat ICT tag line of LearnIT, LiveIT, BenefIT. The ICT 2030 Strategy was then officially launched.
Steve Pinson
Steve spoke initially about the operations of Commander Centre – A local specialists for telephone systems, network rates, mobiles and data. He then spoke about his involvement in the Ballarat Information Technology Specialists (BITS) breakfast network – initially as a participant but now as a sponsor and organiser.
Peter Moon
Peter is from HORIZON Broadband, a wireless communications research, development and delivery company that specialises in long distance high capacity secure communications. Peter spoke about the proposed establishment of a Regional Education, Training, Research and Development Facility (The ETRD Facility) at the University of Ballarat’s Technology Park precinct.
Rowena Coutts
Rowena thanked the members of the Ballarat ICT Cluster who display promotional materials about their organisations and products as part of the launch event. After the official launch activities concluded there was an opportunity to stay on and network and enjoy the innov8 catering.
