Our Mission

Ballarat ICT Ltd believes that ICT offers tangible benefits to the whole Ballarat community and that ICT is critical to creating sustainable and dynamic growth across the region.
Accordingly, Ballarat ICT Ltd's mission is to lead and support Ballarat's ICT industry for the benefit of the community, to significantly enhance ICT research and innovation, and to provide Ballarat with world class ICT infrastructure.
It seeks to build ICT skills and develop high quality jobs in the Ballarat region.
It seeks to advance the interests of almost 100 local ICT companies employing approximately 630 people and generating in excess of $50 million in combined annual revenues.
Ballarat ICT Ltd's strategic outlook, priorities and day-to-day operations are determined by 'Ballarat ICT 2030', the blueprint for strengthening Ballarat's capabilities and reputation as a leading ICT Centre, and are complementary to those practices established to support the Blueprint Ballarat Community Committee.

Our Functions

Ballarat ICT Ltd has five core functions:

Leadership Ballarat ICT Ltd brings related agencies, organisations and individuals together to work on projects, participate in forums and to develop the Ballarat ICT 2030 vision and project list in more detail.

Innovation Ballarat ICT Ltd encourages leading-edge ICT research and supports the rapid adoption and effective use of ICT technologies across all sectors of business and the wider Ballarat community.

Advocacy and Lobbying Ballarat ICT Ltd develops joint advocacy and lobbying strategies to influence government ICT policies (including the City of Ballarat), present industry viewpoints to key stakeholders, and to provide a 'collective voice' for the Ballarat ICT community on matters affecting its external business environment.

Education and Promotion Ballarat ICT Ltd implements measures to communicate progress on Ballarat ICT 2030 to ICT stakeholders and the community at large, attracts investment to the Ballart ICT Cluster, encourages ICT use across business, industry and the Ballarat community, and enhances Ballarat's reputation as an internationally competitive ICT centre. It actively supports and promotes ICT incentives from State and Federal Government. It also links with established Ballarat organisations to obtain feedback regarding Ballarat ICT 2030, on a regular basis.

Partnerships and Networking Ballarat ICT Ltd has close working and collaborative relationships with the University of Ballarat and the Ballarat Technology Park. It pursues partnerships with governments, educational institutions, telecommunications providers, businesses and others to ensure Ballarat achieves its strategic requirements for the delivery and maintenance of world's best ICT infrastructure. New entrants to the Ballarat market are provided with strong networking and active facilitation support.

Ballarat ICT Ltd is an independent, not-for-profit organisation. Previously known as cBallarat, its Board comprises leading figures in Ballarat's ICT community:
