GROWING BY DESIGN - DESIGN STRATEGIES THAT SUCCEED GLOBALLY

Design Victoria together with Ballarat ICT Cluster, City of Ballarat, University of Ballarat and Australian Industry Group presented the Design Ready Workshop: Growing by design – Design strategies that succeed globally.
Design Ready workshops demonstrate to Victorian small to medium enterprises how to successfully use design to create innovative, profitable products and services to improve competitiveness, increase export performance and drive business growth.

Advances in modern technology and e-communications dissolve national borders, extending the competitive environment into global markets. In order to thrive in the international arena, business products and services must be robust enough to compete in the changing business environment, as well as those markets which you plan to profit from in the future.

Most importantly, how is your business using design to communicate critical messages to existing customers and will these designs convey the right messages to new customers?

Attendees learnt the key marketing elements that assist your business to reach wider audiences, and how to include these elements into the design process for global success. This seminar benefited regional businesses with an information, communication and technology (ICT) industry focus.

The workshop was presented by Craig Malcolm from Australian Industry Group/ Tradestart.

Attendees walked away with the basics and details of frameworks to plan designs, aspects of culture that need to be taken into consideration and the barriers that can arise when trying to expand your business horizons.
