Planning future of ICT 2030
The City of Ballarat, cBallarat and the University of Ballarat are holding a series of panel sessions in a bid to forge the ICT 2030 blueprint. ICT 2030 is a framework to guide the future development of ICT capacity, investment and employment opportunities in Ballarat.

Mr Hancock said the development of ICT 2030 will feature active community consultation and engagement as the continued development of ICT capability, investment and employment creation was a critical part of future economic development in Ballarat.
Harnessing Our Byte Power
Since 1994, when Ballarat launched its ICT strategy, IT2010, there had been much talk about turning Ballarat into an ICT Centre of excellence. In those early days it was very much a matter of talking the talk, but sooner or later we were going to have to walk that talk. I am pleased to say that we are now walking it.
Size does matter in the ICT sector
Ballarat has a small but burgeoning ICT sector of about 60 to 70 small companies, many of whom own their own innovations and intellectual property. The skills sectors of our industry are diverse (see http://www.ballaratict.com) ranging from programmers to web and database designers, from communications providers to systems integrators.
