1.7 Cluster management and communication system

The City of Ballarat and Ballarat ICT Cluster Steering Committee accepted an initial recommendation of the University of Ballarat and provided separate funding for the establishment of the Ballarat Cluster Management and Communication System which has been launched on 15 July 2005 by Minister John Brumby. Initial services can be accessed at www.ballaratict.com. These will be progressively enhanced as the Ballarat ICT Cluster develops to:

Support project management, communication, reporting, evaluation and development.
Support the exchange of ideas and information transfer and facilitate knowledge sharing among cluster members and promote collaboration opportunities between and among cluster stakeholders.
Promote ICT cluster activities.
Promote cluster size and member capabilities and more broadly Ballarat as an ICT centre of excellence.
Grow the ICT cluster by attracting skilled personnel, increasing the participation of women, young people and those from diverse cultural backgrounds to ICT careers in the Ballarat region.
Progressively develop a shared knowledge base.
