The University of Ballarat (UB) Research Team comprise individuals from the University's Centre for Electronic Commerce and Communications (CECC) and the Centre for Regional Innovation and Competitiveness (CRIC). Participants include:
The Research Team has a significant track record in cluster research, development and promotion. Previous research has been undertaken in a variety of industry contexts with projects including:
- Research on strengthening complementarity in the wine and tourism industry to facilitate regional development.
- A major cluster study in the Wimmera for the Grains Research and Development Corporation (Julian Lowe).
- The development of an ICT-based eMarketing and eCommerce tourism cluster in the Grampians region (Patrice Braun) and
- ICT-based clustering as an organising principle for the sustainability of regional and rural communities (Helen Thompson).
UB researchers have focused on and identified areas such as research and development towards successful innovation; export; network and cluster relationships; value chains to capture business opportunities, and increasing evidence that the growth and performance of existing enterprises are significantly improved within a cluster context,
