Australian Telecommunications Users Group Broadband Awards 2009

ATUG is looking for Australia’s leaders in the effective use of broadband

ATUG has been at the forefront of the debate in Australia about broadband since 2001. Our interest is making sure broadband is available everywhere at affordable prices so users can experience firsthand the changes broadband makes possible.

In 2007 we began the search for Australia’s Leaders in the Effective Use of Broadband using our network of members, associations, industry, government and many contacts from our successful ATUG Regional Communications Roadshow.

In 2009 ATUG’s national search begins now with the launch of the 2009 Broadband Awards.

ATUG will be looking in all states, with the support of our state based branches and Convenors.

ATUG will be working with Government to find broadband champions across Australia.

ATUG will be working with industry and industry associations to find the best examples of broadband making a difference.

ATUG will be encouraging users of broadband from business - small and large, government and community to tell their story of the benefits broadband has brought to business and everyday life.

For more information visit  http://www.atug.com.au/NBBAward09.cfm

The winners of the Broadband Awards for 2009 will be announced at ATUG’s 2009 Annual Gala Dinner Event attended by 300 industry leaders.

Be Safe in Cyber Space- Twilight Forum

On Tuesday 11 November 2008, Ballarat ICT Cluster held ‘Be Safe in Cyber Space’ Twilight Forum, with the aim being to put a spotlight on cyber safety issues for children and young people. The event was greatly responded to with 38 attendees from the all over the region.

Full report will be published next week on the Ballarat ICT website.

The forum generated a lot of interesting and crucial view points about what the issues are and ways we can limit young people being affected by cyber related issues.
