UBTP & BITS BREAKFAST 19TH AUGUST 2008- WITH CRISPIN BLACKALL, TELSTRA

Telstra is Australia's leading telecommunications and information services company, with one of the best known brands in the country. They offer a  full range of services and compete in all telecommunications markets throughout Australia.

This month's UBTP & BITS breakfast guest speaker was Crispin Blackall, Director of Future Technology Solutions at Telstra. In this role Crispin is accountable for emerging technology strategy and leading a team that identifies innovation in emerging technologies.

Crispin commenced his career in book and magazine publishing in the late eighties, by the early nineties he broadened his experience into advertising, and at J Walter Thompson worked on iconic brands such as Kellogg's and Kodak. In 1995, he moved to Melbourne to lead the Communications Technology team for BHP which included Online, Publishing, Film and Major Events- a role he held for 4 years before joining Telstra at the beginning of 1999.

Over the past nine (and a half) years, Crispin has held various senior roles in Telstra including managing Telstra.com, Business planning, Strategy, Technology Management and in his current Technology Strategy role in the Chief Technology Office.
