Ballarat ICT 2030 Vision

Ballarat will become acknowledged internationally for the strength and innovativeness of its ICT industry, the strategic use of ICT by lead users in the region, and the rapid diffusion and effective use of new technologies by its community.

In identifying project priorities for 2008, Ballarat ICT Limited has identified seven areas where it will take a lead role in initiating or continuing to support activities during 2008.

The eHealth and ICT Cluster has been identified as the first speciality focus area around ICT use in industries where Ballarat has a competitive advantage. Future areas of priority may extend to agribusiness, manufacturing, education and tourism. Ballarat ICT Limited hopes to attract funding to support for the establishment of an eHealth and ICT Cluster during 2008.

Initial planning and consultation activities are being coordinated by Helen Thompson as part of the Ballarat ICT Cluster Stage 3 project which has been funded through a combination of Victorian Government, City of Ballarat and Ballarat ICT Cluster member contributions.
